Young Stars winners of 2021, Frank Peters U-17 competition

Young Stars Football Club of Akure have emerged the winners of the 2021, 13th Edition of Winning Power Soccer Competition tagged: 2021 Frank Peters U-17 Cup.
Young Stars FC defeated Weli-Weli Football Club, Oda 2- 0 in the final of the competition which was decided at the Aquinas College Sports Field, in Akure, the state capital.
The grassroots football final saw Young Stars FC dominated the entire duration with artistry footbal display.
Meanwhile Akure City football Academy had earlier defeated Royal Gold Soccer Academy 3- 1 to emerge third place winners.
Trophy and medals were presented to the winners, first runner up and third place winners.
On the individual awards, Akure City’s Chinedu Nwosu won the highest goal scorer with five goals, the best player award goes to Oladumoye Tomiwa of Weli- Weli FC, while Young Stars’ FC Afolayan Gbenga goes home with the best goalkeeper award.
Falana Olakunle from Royall Gold Soccer Academy emerged most promising player of the competition, Young Stars FC Coach , Akinwalere and Ever Shine FC Coach , Abiodun won best and best behaved coach of the competition respectively.
Twenty one goals were scored in the competition.
The organiser, Johnson Blessing Perez said six best players have been selected for trial with the foreign agent in Lagos.
He said; “we give glory to God Almighty for enabling us to give back to the society through this competition, we also commended all the participating teams for their cooperation from the beginning to the end of the tourney.
“We thank our guests, partners, supporters, especially Mr Frank Peters for support”.
