The immediate past Chairman, Governing Council of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, (RUGIPO), Mr. Banji Alabi, has described the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and APC candidate in the just concluded 2024 Ondo State governorship election in the state as a testament to the trust and confidence the people of the state have in his visionary leadership, demonstrated by his widespread popularity and acceptance across every town, village, and local government, including opposition strongholds.

In his congratulatory message to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Alabi, who described his landslide victory as well-deserved, also urged him to continue ruling with fairness, justice, and equity, catering to the needs of all individuals regardless of social status or background.

“May your regime be guided by transparency, accountability, and good governance. Your track record of fairness and principled decision-making has inspired hope and confidence in many.

“In these challenging times, our people need compassionate and effective leadership. I implore you to leverage your position to bring hope, relief, and empowerment to the marginalized and downtrodden majority. May your leadership be guided by the constitution, the rule of law, and an unwavering commitment to justice and fairness,” he added.

The former Governing Council chairman, equally appealed to the Governor to upgrade Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, to a university status, as previously proposed by the State Government.

This initiative, he said, can revolutionize the State’s economy, creating a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation, stressing that by leveraging the institution’s resources and expertise, the governor can position Ondo State as a leader in technological advancement and economic growth.
