Lack of determination has been identified as the reason people are not embracing agriculture.

A poultry farmer, Mr Fine Egba gave the submission while speaking with The Hope.

Egba who noted that government can do but little if people especially youths are not ready to go into it.  He stated that the role of government is to assist  interested and determined people.

According to him, youths know how to spend money but they are not ready for any hard work. You can only force a horse to the river, you cannot force him to drink, that is the case with our youths”.

While saying that challenges could be overcome when one is determined, Egba stated that there is no business without challenges.

Egba  who stated that you can make gains at times and record losses at other times,  added  that the gains would cover for the losses. He stated  that farmers must stand firm and encourage themselves  at all  times.

He advised government to assist the few that are ready by making small loans  available to them and give them proper monitoring.

He said herdsmen encroachment does not allow most farmers to go outside their backyards and expand calling on government to find a lasting solution to the menace.
