The need for youths to channel their wisdom and energy towards nation’s development rather than allowing themselves to be used for violence has been stressed.
A political analyst, Mr. Wale Jonathan gave the assertion during a political programme on Orange FM radio monitored in Akure.
The youth, he described as the future of the country need to take active role in politics for the country to be better for it.
According to him, “Youth as the future of the country need to take advantage of ‘Not Too Young To Rule Law’ to participate in politics for them to occupy more political offices”
Jonathan, who explained that youth are largely involved in electoral violence urged them not to submit themselves to be used as an instrument at electoral violence.
He condemned the vote buying in the electoral process in the country which he noted was more pronounced in the just concluded governorship and the State House of Assembly election than the presidential and National Assembly poll.
The political analyst pointed out that voting buying has become an issue in the country as political parties with no money to buy vote cannot win an election.
He, therefore, suggested that electronic voting should be adopted to reduce electoral malpractices and violence in the country.
