As part of efforts to nip cybercrime in the bud, youths have been urged to engage in legitimate trades and vocations in order to have a secured future and for the development of the country.

The Deputy Majority Leader, Osun State House of Assembly, Kunle Akande gave the charge in Osogbo while decrying the rate of cybercrime among youths in Nigeria.

Akande frowned at the attitude of some youths who engaged in cybercrime at the expense of doing the right thing and for their future.

The lawmaker while condemning the ugly trend said the act puts the perpetrators and families at stake of ridicule and shame.

He urged youths to embrace entrepreneurship alongside their educational pursuits in order to be self-reliant rather than searching for white collar jobs.

“Youths should desist from cybercrime and be focused in life. If they learn a trade and also focus on their studies, they will definitely become successful in life.”

He urged all and sundry to be on the same page in the fight against internet fraud in order to get rid of criminalities in Nigeria.
