The Sector Commander in Ondo State, Mr Ezekiel Son Allah admonished road users to always obey traffic rules and avoid overspeeding.

He also urged motorists to abstain from taking alcohol and hard drugs before or while driving.

The Unit Commander of FRSC in Ore, Mrs Yetunde Adesina while speaking at the event on the theme: “Speed Thrills But Kills: Drive Responsibly And Avoid Overloading” admonished all road users to adhere to all traffic precautionary measures at all time.

“The essence of this event is to raise public awareness on the proper use of the road among our stakeholders and to particularly encourage community involvement in the activities for the prevention of Road Traffic Crashes on our highways and also incorporate safety consciousness into the mindset of all road users.

“We are here to admonished road users to always adhere strictly to safety precautions while driving”

“This campaign is organised to caution our drivers and other road users on the need to be safety conscious not only at this time but beyond the festive period

“As it has been reported overtime, Road Traffic Crashes are caused by  three major factors which are: Human (Driver), Mechanical (Vehicle) and Environmental (Road). But human factor takes 90% of whatever happens on the road.”

Adesina however charged motorists plying major highways in the country to shun over-speeding, overloading, wrongful overtaking, impatience, lane indiscipline, recklessness, Dangerous driving, indiscriminate parking and other attitudes capable of jeopardizing our safety on the highways.

Some of the Transport Union workers while speaking at the event urged the government to provide necessary assistance in making the nation’s roads motorable for motorists.
