Yuletide: Ondo FRSC deploys 1,144 officers, urges motorists to be safety conscious
…Says 105 die from 305 crashes

As Christmas and the New Year celebrations draw nearer, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Sector Commander in Ondo State, Mr. Ezekiel Son’Allah, has disclosed that the Command has deployed 1,144 personnel to man various Highways across the state.
The gesture, according to him, was to ensure, that the state records zero road traffic crashes, not during the yuletide period alone, but beyond it.
He dropped the hint while speaking with The Hope Correspondent during an interview in Akure today.
While speaking on the number of crashes recorded in the state so far, he disclosed, that; “From January to November, we have a total crash of 305.
According to him; “The number of injured person stood at 520 adding that about 105 lost their lives
“These figures are unacceptable to us because these trend must be reversed and to achieve this, all hands must be on deck
“So, the remaining days in the 2023 and beyond, we are working round the clock to ensure that the yuletide is accident-free and we will also ensure free flow of traffic.
“We are working towards zero road traffic crashes in Ondo State, not during this yuletide, but beyond it
“To ensure these plans are actualized, the Command has deployed 1,144 personnel to man the Highways.
“I also wish to call on the motorists and the general public to be safety conscious whenever they are using the Highways to ensure we record zero crashes.
“Our target is to ensure that there is no road crash in Ondo State and we are seriously working round the clock to make sure that crashes are avoided.
