Sunshine Stars Assistant Coach (Technical), Yusuf Salihu has reaffirmed his loyalty to Kabiru Dogo, amid rumours linking him with a move away from the Akure based side to manage in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
In a chat with newsmen , Scheedow as coach Yusuf is fondly called confirmed a few NNL sides and coaches in the NPFL sounded him out recently, but restated his commitment to the project his boss, Dogo has taken up at Sunshine Stars.
The former Nigeria Air Force Officer stated: “Yes I received offers from some NNL sides, even coaches in the NPFL offered me a Chief Coach role, but there is nothing more to it, because my allegiance at the moment lies with my Oga (boss), coach Dogo and Sunshine Stars.
“Myself and Dogo have come a long way, while at different clubs before now we have always wanted to work together and thank God we have the opportunity at Sunshine. I feel it will not be wise to end the union at this time.”
“Dogo is among the top coaches in Nigeria even though he himself is not seeing it that way, and it’s a honour to work with him at a big club like Sunshine Stars. I will only consider a suitable offer in the future with the consent and blessings of Dogo. The CAF B licensed coach added.
Scheedow, 44 guided Yarmalight FC of Gombe as Technical Adviser from the Nationwide League One (NLO) to the NNL last season, before teaming up with Sunshine Stars in time for the start of the 2018/19 NPFL season.
