Zitadel Films to produce N600m cross-cultural epic, ‘Oba Osupa’

Nigeria – Zitadel Films International is set for the production of ‘Oba Osupa’, a historic N600 million film project that will showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Akure Kingdom and the Benin Kingdom.

The project, according to the producer, Comrade Sam Omorege aims to promote cross-cultural understanding, celebrate Nigeria’s rich heritage, and provide a unique platform for cultural exchange has received partial support from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Scheduled to begin shooting on February 24, 2025, Oba Osupa will feature a stellar cast, including prominent Benin and Akure Chiefs, cultural curators.

Others are nine Professors from the Faculty of Arts across Nigeria’s top universities, notable Nollywood actors and actresses will also take on leading roles in the film.

The producer, Comrade Sam Omorege, on behalf of the production team, expressed appreciation.  Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade (Odundun II), the Deji of Akure for his imperial blessings and support for this project and the Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, NDDC, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde ‘Abena’, for his invaluable support.

Oba Osupa promises to be a cinematic masterpiece, weaving together the vibrant traditions and customs of the Akure and Benin Kingdoms.
