By Bukola Olamona

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 17, Akure, AIG Musibau Omolabi Ajani, has called for deeper collaboration between the Police and members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) across Ondo and Ekiti States to boost security within the zone.

Speaking during an interactive session with the PCRC members, Ajani reiterated that the task of securing lives and property could not rest solely on the shoulders of security agencies, but required active participation from the public.

The police boss urged the committee members to strengthen their partnership with the Police by offering credible intelligence and prompt information to assist in crime prevention and enforcement operations.

Ajani, who commended the continuous support from PCRC members, emphasised the importance of their role in community policing and intelligence gathering, describing their contributions as critical to the success of the Police.

Reassuring the committee of his open-door policy, Ajani invited them to reach out to him directly whenever necessary, stressing that accessibility and trust were key ingredients to effective policing.

The session offered an opportunity for PCRC members to commend AIG Ajani’s leadership style, praising his proactive stance on community engagement and his unwavering commitment to fostering a sense of inclusion within the security framework.
