Says It’s the only way to defeat Adeleke in 2026

The Osun West Crusaders, a political advocacy group, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone its 2026 governorship ticket to Osun West Senatorial District, arguing that it is the party’s best chance to reclaim power from Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The group criticized Adeleke’s administration, describing it as lacking vision and marked by erratic governance. They pledged to mobilize support for APC’s victory if the ticket is given to Osun West.

Speaking at a press conference in Osogbo on Monday, the group’s coordinator, AbdulGafar Blessing, stressed that zoning the ticket to Osun West would restore balance to the state’s political landscape and correct historical underrepresentation.

He noted that Osun West has not produced a governor in the past 26 years, despite its strong support for APC. The group also called on key party leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, to back their demand.

The Crusaders believe that by fielding a candidate from Osun West, APC would demonstrate its commitment to fairness and regional inclusion, thereby strengthening its chances of winning the 2026 election.
