The Director,Media and Publicity of People’s Democratic Party(PDP), in Ondo State ,Mr Leye Igbabo has said that zoning of National Chairman of the party is not constitutional.

Igbabo who disclosed this yesterday in an interview with The Hope, said zoning is just a norm by trying to have a sense of inclusion.

According him: ” If it does not go in that direction at that particular time, it does not become illegality, it is all in the spirit of inclusiveness”.

While responding to rumours from some quarters that the party is going through a crisis,Igbabo said the party is only having a disagreement bordering on interest just as the way politics is being run.

He said” After all, in Rivers State, we have members of the Presidential campaign Committees there and they are doing well,so Wike is not having issues with the party or Atiku but only with the National Chairman.

” If Ayu decided not to step down, it is not an agreement with the party and Governor Wike, it was an alleged agreement between Governor Wike and Ayu. The party is bigger than anyone,” he stated.

On the issue of former Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s rejection to be part of the National Campaign Committee, he said that the former governor has the right to reject or accept the offer for some reasons .

” If one is given an opportunity,to do something,he or she may humbly reject for personal reasons ,it should not be elevated to a point of crisis” he said.
