Catholics observe  Feast of All Souls

Catholic faithful on Saturday observed the feast of All Souls when special prayers were offered for the dead.

In Akure, the Ondo State capital, faithful members of the church converged at the Araromi cemetery where Mass was held for the repose of the souls of the dead.

In his homily, Revd. Father Raphel Adesulu said the concept of the communion of Saint is linked with St. Paul’s teaching that in Christ, Christians form a single body.

Catholics, he said believe that death can separate people whom they love from them just for awhile, adding that, we are united with them in the community of saints.

At the ceremony, several Catholics including the Knights of St. John International defied the heavy rain to offer special prayer requests for their dead relations and members at the solemn ceremony.
