Ondo state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa received resounding support and endorsement for his ambition from elders of the APC from across the 18 local government areas of the State on Tuesday.

Addressing the elders at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s office, Alagbaka, Akure, the Governor reflected on the unforeseen circumstances surrounding his assumption of office, following the untimely passing of the late Governor Akeredolu.

Despite the challenges, Aiyedatiwa expressed his unwavering dedication to diligently serving the people of the State.

“Since assuming office, I have dedicated every single day to addressing the pressing needs of our state, I remain steadfast in my commitment to promoting infrastructure development, enhancing the welfare of our citizens, and resolving issues affecting our hardworking workers,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed.

Expressing gratitude for the support received, the Governor acknowledged the elders saying, “I wish to convey through this platform that our elders will consistently receive recognition. Any society that overlooks the input of its elders in policy making is destined for limitations. As esteemed elders, please offer guidance whenever you observe any missteps on our part. Your support is deeply appreciated, and I assure you that I will endeavor not to betray your trust”.

The elders commended the Governor for the recognition he has given them with the engagement and promised to give him their support and prayers.

One the elders, Chief Olushola Iji, former Ambassador to Togo, said, “I’m deeply moved by the Governor’s emotional appeal to the elders of the party. His humility in seeking our support signifies his readiness for leadership. With his remarkable achievements in such a short time, I urge us to throw our support behind him”.
