The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abibakar, has promised to restore Nigeria’s unity if elected as the president of the country.

He gave the pledge at the kick- off of his Southwest campaign rally at Democracy Park, Akure in continuation of his electioneering campaign.

The presidential candidate pledged to prioritize empowerment of men and women by setting aside $10bn for the provision of small and medium scale entrepreneurship.

Atiku, who appreciated the residents of the state for giving him highest votes in the 2019 general elections appealed to them to repeat the same feat in the next year elections.

He further pledged his readiness to eliminate insecurity facing the country through strong democratic system that will ensure safety of life and property, assuring that he would fix bad roads in order to make them motorable.

He vowed to redeem the collapsed education system and equip students with education standard.

National Chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, called for unity within the PDP for it to rule the country again.

This, he said was necessary to elect experienced leader like Atiku to rescue the country from its present challenges facing it.

“Atiku is coming back to do it again as he did it during Chief Olusegun Obasanjo administration in making life meaningful for Nigerians.

Earlier, Titi Atiku, wife of the PDP presidential candidate and native of Osun State, addressed the crowd where she promised the Ondo people that her husband will defeat insecurity and provide scholarships to students.
