Obas’ Cup: Akoko North West, Owo LG trade tackles in final

Akoko North West and Owo local governments have qualified for the final of the Obas’ Cup.
Akoko North West defeated Ile-Oluji LG 1-0 in the first Semi finals decided at Ijapo housing field to book a final date with Owo LG which triumphed over Akure South LG 9-8 via penalty shootouts after both sides played 1-1 draw in the regulation time.
All the semi finalists displayed football artistry to the admiration of the spectators at the Ijapo Housing field in Akure the state capital.
The final of the competition will be played Saturday at the state sports complex.
Sunshine Stars Captain Sunday Abe was on ground to encourage all the participating teams.
He advised the players to be focused and play to the rules of the competition.
The organizers of the competition reiterated that the purpose for organising the competition was to keep the youths busy and catch them young to be useful for themselves, their family, the state and the country at large.
