Political stalwarts eulogise Akeredolu

Stalwarts of political parties across Ondo state have described the death of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a great loss to the state.

The political stalwarts described his death as a sad moment, saying Akeredolu will continue to be remembered for his great achievements in terms of security and infrastructural development.

They said he has done what many thought was practically impossible, unprecedented massive infrastructural development in the State.

His good work in the construction of Oba Osupa /NEPA roundabout /Olukayode /Hospital; Idanre road construction and Sabomi, Ese-Odo cannot be forgotten, they noted.

The state Chairman of Accord Party , Dr. Ajibola Falaiye, who joined members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to mourn the death of the late governor pointed out that the former governor has achieved so much in the area of security through the establishment of Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun in the state and across the South West States.

He explained that the state has been peaceful as his administration has been able to curb insecurity.

On his part,the State Chairman of New Nigeria People’s Party, Mr. Peter Olagookun, said the late governor will always be remembered for his stand.

He noted, “he was a man that will always be remembered for his words because nothing stopped him from what he decides that is good for the people of the state.

“Arakunrin has tried his best for the good people of Ondo State.

“He stood firm against all odds on the establishment of Amotekun to fight insecurity.

“On other legacy he left behind, he did well in the area of road construction, particularly in Owo and other parts of the state.

“His government which is interested in the general well-being of its citizenry has ensured transparency and blockage of leakages in the state.

Also, the State Chairman of Zenith Labour Party, Mr. Lawrence Oyebanji, who described him as a man of his words, saying the vacuum he left behind cannot be filled.

He maintained that his achievements in clearing the salary and pension arrears owed by the previous administration cannot be forgotten by civil servants and pensioners in the state.

According to him, the achievements of Akeredolu in term of infrastructure, construction and reconstruction of schools have made a great impact on the social and educational development.
