We ‘re committed to quality healthcare – Oyeneyin

The Director General, Ondo State Contributory Health Commission (ODCHC), Dr Abiodun Oyeneyin said the commission is committed to ensuring quality health care gets to all LGs in the State .
He stated this during the Commission’s sensitisation meeting with the Management and Staff of the State Internal Revenue Service in Akure.
According to him, health insurance is the most effective and evidence based contributory mechanism for health care across the world, hence the need for both formal and informal sectors of the State to key into the scheme for quick access to health care .
While stating that Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS ) for public servants is covering a principal enrollee, a spouse and four children below 18 years , he added that both suitable public and private hospitals will serve as providers in all the 18 Local Government areas of the State.
Oyeneyin informed that the State government is committed to the scheme and has promised to pay 60 percent of the premium to all civil servants, while the enrollees will pay 40 percent ,assuring that the scheme which will soon commence will be implemented in a seamless way.
He assured the formal and informal sectors of an affordable package in order to guarantee the desired health coverage.
In his presentation, the Director ,Business Development and Marketing of the Commission, Dr Tolu Ademujimi explained that one of the mandates of the Commission is to ensure that everyone has access to quality and affordable health care services at a meagre price.
He said that the mandated contribution is three percent of what public servants earned monthly, noting that individual are to only contribute 1.2 percent while the State government would pays 1.8 percent.
Ademujimi who said regional integration discussion have commenced to enable enrollees receive/access health care anywhere in the South West region, informed that retirees health insurance scheme has been designed on paper and will soon be added.
He listed the benefit cover for ORANGHIS to include outpatient consultation, immunisation and child welfare, common childhood diseases, drugs, eye, dental, x-rays, ultrasound scan, minor surgery, physiotherapy and wellness programme among others
He stated that five developed health insurance of the Commission include,Abiyamo maternal and child health insurance scheme, Basic care provision fund programme , Orange health insurance scheme, Sunshine health insurance scheme and Student health insurance scheme.
