Adeleke tasks stakeholders over rights of children

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has charged stakeholders in child education and development sector of the state to be alive to their responsibilities to secure a brighter future for children and society at large.

The governor gave the charge at a function to celebrate Osun State children, noting that meeting the needs of future leaders in a rapidly changing world requires collective efforts of all and sundry to build a non-chaotic egalitarian society.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, Adeleke stated that the future belongs to the virtuous, focused, hardworking and serious-minded students while urging the children to shun all social vices to succeed in life.

The state governor contended that parents, guardians, teachers, religious leaders and non-governmental organisations must complement government efforts to ensure holistic development of children.

He seized the opportunity to appreciate the people’s support before, during and after the governorship poll and called for continued support of all to jointly build a virile state .

The Coordinating Director of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, Mr Jide Falade, called the government and the stakeholders in child upbringing to put in more effort to wage war against all forms of problems impeding children’s general wellness.

Speaking separately, some of the stakeholders in child development sector in the state, Abiola Ezekiel, Abolarin Grace and Olufunke Adedigba, emphasised the need for children to face their studies and eschew acts capable of truncating their ambitions.
