Adeleye, others bag NSCDC Excellence Award

Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Security Matters, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has been honoured with ‘Security Support’ Award, for his giant strides in fighting crimes in the state.

The award was bestowed on him by the Ondo Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as part of activities to commemorate the 2022 World  Civil Defence Day Celebration, held in Akure.

Other awardees according to the NSCDC Commandant included; Justice Adejumo, Prince Dayo Ibidapo Bassey and Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN).

Ondo state Commandant of the (NSCDC), Dr Hammed Abodunrin, stated that records showed that Akogun Adeleye and other awardees have done something extra in terms of responding to distress calls and assisting the commad in times of facilitating adequate security system in the state.

“Amotekun and its Commander were picked because of their professionalism displayed in tackling crimes and criminalities since its creation”, he said.

Presenting the prestigious award on behalf of the NSCDC, the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, described the State Amotekun Corps Commander, Akogun Adeleye, as a round peg in a round hole, whose efforts has continued to sanitize the state of bandits and hoodlums.

He also lauded the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his avowed decision to fight crime to a standstill and ensure that residents of the state sleep with their two eyes closed.

Responding, Akogun Adeleye, thanked men and officers of NSCDC for the honour done him, saying the award would spur him to ensure that the state remains one of the safest in the nation.

“On behalf of Ondo State Governor, I congratulate  and appreciate your efforts in collaborating with sister agencies towards crime fighting in the state.  He will continue to assist the Corps in accomplishing its objectives”, he said.
