AGFD, FA set to stage Obas’ Cup

In a bid  to develop football at the grassroots , the African Grassroots Football Development (AGFD), in conjunction with Ondo State Football Association (FA) have agreed to organise and reinvent  the prestigious Ondo State under 17 Boys Royal Football Tournament  tagged: Obas’ Cup.

In a letter signed by the State FA Secretary, Mr Adetoyinbo  Ibukun and made available to Sporting Hope by the  AGFD President, Prince Moruf Adams, the annual Royal football competition, with support of Ondo State Sports Council will be competed among the eighteen local government football teams in Ondo State from May 28 to June 14, 2020.

According to the president of the organisation, Prince Moruf Adams, the purpose of organising the competition is primarily to discover the hidden talents that abound in the nooks and crannies of the state.

Adams added that the talents discovered at the competition are  going to be  trained to stardom to the  glory of the state and the country at large .

He said, “Sports apart from being a veritable tools  to curb social vices among the youths, is a  means of empowerment for the youth for economic benefit.”
