Akoko agog as ODHA lawmaker, Omole, wife bag chieftaincy titles

Member, Ondo State House of Assembly representing Akoko South-West Constituency 1, Olugbenga Omole alongside his wife, Wemimo have been conferred with chieftaincy titles of Akogun and Yeye Akogun of Okaland by HRM, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, the Olubaka of Okaland at the weekend.

Omole, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Youth and Sports Development also celebrated his birthday in grand style as he clocked 50.

Dignitaries across the state who graced the occasion include the Governor of the State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Chief of Staff, Chief Olugbenga Ale, cabinet members, lawmakers from the National Assembly, the State Assembly led by the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun who was represented by the Deputy Speaker, Revd.Samuel Aderoboye, Council bosses ,APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin and other party chieftains, religious and traditional rulers, among others.

Speaking during the installation and church thanksgiving ,the Governor of the State,  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa congratulated the celebrant for the recognition and honour, describing him as a good and vibrant person.

He equally congratulated the Monarch  for the peace in the town and its environs and his support to the government, assuring that his government will not rest on its oars at ensuring more development in the state.

Oba Adeleye affirmed that the confirement of the chieftaincy titles was based on credibility and performance towards the development of the town and people, emphasising that it was a honour well deserved, devoid of money inducement.

The monarch posited that he has been empowering the youth and other people even before he became a Lawmaker, through his annual football competition where many youths are now in big clubs.

Oba Adeleye informed that Akogun title mean a person who is bold, brave and can represent the town well anywhere.

At the thanksgiving service at African Church, Ebenezer parish,Agba,Oka-Akoko, the Bishop of Oka -Akoko Diocese and Archbishop of Oka- Akoko province, Most Revd. Joseph Olalekan Akinsanya in his sermon said it was good to always give thanks to the Lord, noting that attaining the golden jubilee deserved thanksgiving and appreciation to God.

Speaking from Philippians 4:4-7, Psalm 90 verse 12, and Psalms 103,he charged the celebrant to dedicate his entire life to praising God, praying that he will live long to continue to serve God and humanity .

In an interview, Akogun Omole thanked the monarch and his people for the recognition, saying that the installation will spur him to do more towards the development of Oka town.

He thanked God for the amazing grace and opportunity to attain the golden jubilee, adding that the favour will not be taken for granted.
