A nutritionist, Mrs Iyanu Adeyemo has described bitter leaf juice as a super healthy and medicinal juice that helps women get pregnant when drinking it appropriately.
Adeyemo, stated this in an interview with The Hope, saying there is a component in bitter leaf juice that make it great therapy for burning off extra fat.
She said a daily dose of bitter leaf juice in diet can eliminate bad cholesterol and reduce excess calories in the body.
She further said that bitter leaf reduces cancer risks, adding that bitter leaf contains anti-cancer properties like andrographolide compound which has been scientifically found to be effective in treating prostate cancers, gastric cancers, and colon.
According to him, bitter leaf extract can boost the immune system, inhibit tumor growth and prevent the development of cancer cells.
The Nutritionist noted that bitterness of bitter leaf juice helps to lower sugar level and controls blood pressure in the body, adding that it is good for hypertensive and diabetic patients because of the potassium that was present in it and also prevent sodium from spiking up in the bloodstream by flushing out the accumulation of salt.
Adeyemo stated that bitter leaf juice is a good remedy for abdominal issues like stomach upset, diarrhea, dysentery and other gastrointestinal tract diseases.
Adeyemo stressed that the bitter leaf juice is good for reproductive system of women. It helps them to get pregnant as the chemical compounds present in bitter leaf can help a woman get extracts like edotides, promotes hormonal balance and boosts the immune system to help fight against toxification.
