HoS appeals to workers over percentage payment

Ondo State Head of Service, Pastor John Adeyemo has appealed to workers in the state to bear with the government on the resolution reached between the Organised Labour and the state government on the percentage payment of salaries to workers.
He said workers will be paid 40% balance of March salary and 35% part payment of April, 2021 salary totaling 75% receivable in July, 2021, while assuring them that the state government is working out modalities to clear the arrears and ensure full payment of salary of the subsequent months in due course.
Adeyemo according to a press release signed by his Director of Media, Mr Williams Oni, said they arrived at the stated percentages as a result of inadequate allocation received from the federation account for June, 2021 which is not enough to pay full salary for a month.
He reiterated the commitment of Governor Akeredolu led administration to regular payment of salary and welfare of workers despite the precarious financial situation of the state government as demonstrated through training, regular promotion, as well as continual approval of car and housing loan to complement the salary and savings of workers to execute their projects.
He enjoined all Public Servants to continue to bear with the government at this critical time of hard economic reality, saying that government will return to 100% payment of monthly salary as soon as the economy of the state improve contrary to the perceptions of some section of the public that the present administration is deliberately pauperising Workers in the state through payment of percentage of their salary, whereas government usually pay the balance of the percentage paid in a month at the following month.
