AHip pop musician, Akerele Oluwaseun David, popularly known as LuckyHD, has attributed the downfall of many Hip Pop musicians to arrogance.
LuckyHD, stated that arrogance makes artistes lose face with the fans and kills their relationship with people.
The artiste while speaking with Friday Extravaganza also advised upcoming artistes to be liberal, friendly, learn from others and always listen to good music.
Music is life, medicine to the soul a universal language that brings men of different races together.
The world is in chaos of Social Crisis. With all the despicable happenings going on and beyond, music is one of the things that help individual regain strength, reassurance and hope for a better tomorrow.
According to him, the name “ LuckyHD” is a combination of his name and his partner’s, Ahmed Ayomide.
“As a musician, you need to listen to different musics if you want to be a good musician. You learn how to listen to bad and good music, then you will be able to compare. Some people don’t listen to other people’s music.
They believe in what they do. You must listen to others then you pick ideas”, the artiste with over 12 years of experience further advised.
“I met my partner in Secondary School where I used to sing. I did not know him then, from there he developed interest in me. Since then we have become best of friends.
According to him, every aspect of life has its challenges, being outstanding is a task but as an artiste, the most challenging aspect of it is finance, this limits one’s exploration at times.
He identified Olamide, Psquare and Bob Marley, as his mentors in the industry saying he grew up listening to music Legends, and they’ve been a source of inspiration to him.
“Our aim is to use music as a medium to communicate Love and Peace, to explore, to teach, to motivate, to implore and to make money, weapon to fight against social crisis and immoralities in the society, and the world at large.
“While I was young, I started music as a drummer, and as time went on, I realized I had a flair which made me ventured more into becoming a rapper/singer.
The duo have produced six tracks so far titled; Imagine, Get down, Issok, Game over, Survivers of the Fittest and I wish, adding that they both composed songs together and whenever they went for outings, they shared their gains equally.
In his words, he wants to become a musician who would have a positive impact on the society.
