Mrs Akeredolu pledges commitment to girl – child devt

The wife of Ondo State Governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu -Akeredolu, has reiterated her commitment to continue to develop the potentials of the girl – child in the state through her various initiatives to enhance a better future for them and the society at large.

The First Lady, made this disclosure during her visit to Stella Maris College Okitipupa  in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the State. While describing her visit to the school as “Back to School Visitation,” she commended the principal and the teachers of the school for a job well done having produced some of the outstanding students during the BEMORE SUMMER BOOT CAMP and assured them that the school will always be carried along in her pet programmes.

 Mrs Akeredolu also commended the students for their brilliant performance as she promised to continue to engage them in more productive programmes  that will enhance their capacity building in the years ahead.

“It has become my annual ritual to welcome students of the State back to the new school year since 2017. What actually drew me to your school was the brilliant performance of BEMORE Girls from Okitipupa Local Government. Since then, I have it in my mind to meet the principal and staff of the school to encourage them to continue with their teaching style that makes their products stand out among their peers.”

 She further added that the School will continue to benefit from her programmes  with more participants to be drawn from the school in  subsequent initiatives.

The First Lady also commended the Chairman of the Okitipupa Local Government, Mrs Morenike Alaka for her resilience and commitment through her involvement in the participation of the students in the local government at all times.

In his remarks, the principal of the School, Mr Joseph Olowogbenga who revealed that since the establishment of the College in 1960, Mrs Akeredolu was the first Ondo state governor’s wife to have visited the School  commended her immense contributions towards the academic and moral development of the school girls through her various programmes which he said will go a long way to prepare the girls for better future.

One of the parents of the BEMORE  Girls, Mr Emmanuel Elebimoyo,  thanked and commended the wife of the governor for equipping the girls with life changing knowledge and skills through her programmes which he said has greatly impacted positively on both the students’ academic and moral lives.
