Olujimi, Akeredolu Law Firm celebrate SANs, eulogise first female SAN at 89

Lawyers in the law firm of Olujimi & Akeredolu (O&A) have held an evening of Grand Celebration to honour six members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan branch who were recently elevated into the prestigious status of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.
The honourees who included Professor Oyelowo Oyewo, (SAN); Mrs Funmi Quadri (SAN); Nureini Soladoye Jimoh, (SAN); Oluwaseun Abimbola, (SAN ); Isiaka Olagunju, (SAN) and Musibau Adetunbi, (SAN), were among the Seventy-two lawyers who were admitted into the Inner Bar by the Supreme Court’s Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) late last year.
In his toast , the Governor of Ondo State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, who is the Patron of Ibadan Branch of NBA, described the six honourees as great men and women who have served the bar with their might and main.
While wishing them continued exploits in law practice, Governor Akeredolu enjoined the honourees to continue to remain on the side of law and justice.
The Governor used the occasion to celebrate the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Folake Solanke, SAN, whose membership of the Inner Bar is 45 Years on and 89th birthday today Monday, just as the audience gave her a spontaneous standing ovation.
A co-partner of Olujimi & Akeredolu who is a former Attorney General of the Federation & Honourable Minister of Justice, Chief Akinlolu Olujimi,SAN, said the calling of the honourees into the inner bar puts greater responsibilities on their shoulders and as such must live to the expectations of their respective callings.
Chief Olujimi advised them to show utmost respect to their seniors despite being on the same rank with them and equally be humble to their juniors.
In his response on behalf of the honourees, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo, SAN, who is also one of the 10 from the academics appreciated the organisers of the event and promised to continually uphold the tenets of sound jurisprudence.
Professor Oyewo used the opportunity to encourage lawyers whose ambitions to become elevated into the prestigious rank not to lose hope but to continue to work harder with the hope of realising the dream in no distant future.
Also an alumnus of Olujimi & Akeredolu Law Firm who equally spoke on behalf of his colleagues, Mr Oluwaseun Abimbola, SAN, appreciated the entire staff of O&A for the programme and assured that the values of sound mentorship acquired over the years would continue to be upheld.
Head of Ibadan office of O&A Law Office Mr Ibrahim Lawal appreciated all dignitaries at the event for their presence.
Earlier, the Chief Judge of Oyo state, Honourable Justice Muktar Abimbola, who is also the Chairman on the occasion, lauded governor Akeredolu for his commitment and support to the Bar at all times.
