Ondo State Sinage Agency (OSSA) has begun an enforcement drive across the state to ensure compliance with the Standard of Advertising Practices as it will further help in regaining the aesthetics of the environment.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Press Officer to the agency, Mrs Debbie Funmilayo and made available to The Hope in Akure.

According to the statement, the Senior Special Assistant on Signage and Advertisement, Mr. Akinwande Akinrodoye disclosed that the Agency commenced the year with various campaigns as means to sensitize and orientate the public on the need to pay statutory tariffs and levies as it affects Signages and Billboards.

Akinrodoye who noted that the Agency was not out to run down any business said it has waited long enough before embarking on the enforcement .

According to him, the Agency had deployed posters on all Government Orange Boards with the caption ”Pay Your Bill” across selected locations in the state to further disseminate the message.

Also,  that Billboard/Signage assessments were issued appropriately to all business categories in succession to ensure transparency and accuracy on billing.

His words: ”The process of sensitization is on-going and the Agency made use of every opportunity to carry it out so as to keep the public abreast of what is required’.

He advised affected business owners to do the needful to avoid hindering the progress and smooth operation of their businesses.

The enforcement team leader Mr. Folorunso Hakeem, said the action was basically to serve as a reminder to non-complying business owners.
