Osun State Security Network and Amotekun Corps said it had rescued one Muhammed Jubril, who was reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen at Ago-Igbira,a Fulani Settlement area at Ila-Orangun in the state .
The Hope Metro gathered that the. victim was rescued on Monday after much pressure mounted on the suspected kidnappers by men of the corps.
Recall operatives of Amotekun embarked on a search of a kidnapped victim, Jubril, who was abducted at about 1:40 am on Wednesday by unknown gunmen at Ago-Igbira, a Fulani settlement in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.
The operatives from Ila Command were said to have swung into action immediately they received a distress call from the Seriki Fulani of Ago Igbira settlement that some ‘Bororo’ have invaded them and kidnapped one Muhammed Jubril
The Amotekun Field Commander, Commander Olusoji Akanni mobilized his men to comb the forest all night till they got to Ago Inisha, Arandun, and Igbo Orile in Kwara State.
Confirming the rescue mission to newsmen in Osogbo, the Amotekun Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, said the kidnapped victim, Muhammed Jubril has been released by his abductors after intensive efforts and pressure mounted on the hoodlums
“Our operatives were closing in on them and as a result, they released the victim with no ransom paid,” Adewinmbi said.
He also added that investigation is ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers.
The Hope Metro learnt that the victim has reunited with his family.
