The Owa Ale of Iyometa, Ikare Akoko, Oba Adeleke Adedoyin, has expressed his pleasure with the infrastructural development going on in the town, saying it is the evidence that the town is progressing.

Oba Adedoyin who spoke at the final ceremony marking the celebration of Oke Meji Tako Tabo festival  was specific on the construction of the dual carriage road in the town said, it has greatly contributed to the growth of Ikare-Akoko.

The Owa-Ale, who was recently elevated to a First Class monarch in the state, therefore, commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for not keeping the town out of the developmental agenda of his administration.

“It is on this note I want to thank our Arakunrin Governor who has done so well for us in Ikare-Akoko. In fact, he is trying to turn our town into small London with the development going on in our environment. Many of our roads are being tarred by the government”

Equally, the monarch thanked lawmakers at the National Assembly for their love for the community and facilitating developmental projects to the area.

The festival, which symbolizes the origination of the famous town from Ile-Ife and their first ancestral settlement on the Ikare Hills,  was embellished with series of cultural exhibitions and witnessed by high profile persons, was held at the Palace of Owa-Ale.

Speaking at the grand finale of the festival Oba Adegbite-Adedoyin described the festival as a remarkable event which has never been downplayed due to its huge significance, adding that the festival also portends celebration of progenitors deeply rooted the town in its present hilly settlement.

Oba Adedoyin  however, appreciated the manner with which indigenes and non-indigenes had conducted themselves with propriety, urging them to maintain tranquility in all their dealings.
