Ondo state government has been applauded for a successful hosting of the development partners summit, just as it has been charged to revisit its moribund industries.

This, it was argued, will also add to the economy and development of the state.

The Lead Social Protection Specialist of the World Bank, Mr. Foluso Ogunmadewa in an interview with The Hope said that the state is doing very well and should build on its achievements.

He described the summit as the best way to galvanise every stakeholder into a developmental agenda.

A participant at the Summit, Mr, Kayode Ojomi who spoke with The Hope in an interview said “I expected government to talk on its efforts as regards the development of the state especially with regards to agro allied business and animal husbandry.”

Speaking on the summit, the State Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA) Mr. Bode Famose said there was no way government can go back to the moribund industries like Oluwa Glass, because the technology then is absolutely obsolete.”

According to him, making use of the Public Private partnership is the best approach to tackle the challenges on ground.

He opined that there is need to encourage what government is doing now to showcase what it has and encourage many people to partner with it because government has no business in business.

“Any business handled by the government will eventually collapse.

The special Assistant to the Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Yomi Akinrinmade said the summit was one of the good initiatives of the governor to ensure that major stakeholders are brought into the development agenda of the state especially to drive the development agenda of the governor.
