US to partner Osun on investment

The United States of America has reiterated its commitment to partner with Osun State in order to build a healthy economy and open windows of investment and business opportunities.

The Consul General of the US Consulate in Lagos, Ms. Claire Pierangelo disclosed this in Osogbo during a courtesy visit to the Office of the Governor.

The US government who described Osun as one of the few governments in Nigeria that had recorded unprecedented success in the implementation of Health Insurance Scheme, reiterated its readiness to partner the state in its efforts to rejuvenating its economy.

Pierangelo, while congratulating Governor Gboyega Oyetola for making the state the mother of Health Insurance Scheme programme around the country, stressed that the US is ready to partner the state particularly in the areas of agriculture and school feeding programme and other areas that calls for collaboration.

The US Consul also assured of their readiness to strengthen the partnership ties in the education, tourism, technical and vocational sectors among others in the state.

In his response, Governor Oyetola commended the United States for its interest and support for the state particularly in the areas of economic growth, development, governance and development, security cooperation among others.

“Osun is happy to key into this very much beneficial partnership for development. We as a government, has been around for one year and two months and I am happy that you too recognized the efforts that we have made in the area of health”, he stated.
