2023: Vote for credible candidates, Christians urged

Christians have been admonished to seek God for guidance instead of allowing sentiment to dictate their choice of candidates in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

The appeal was made yesterday by Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Isinkan District, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, Prophet Jesujimade Oluwaobanisolare Babaiyere

In a press statement issued and made available to The Hope, Babaiyere advised Christians to pray for a leader after God’s heart, while lamenting that a lot of religious leaders are merely fighting for their pockets.

Babaiyere who is the founder of The Way of Heaven Outreach Ministry said

“A Christian can be president and work against God, but let God choose for us. If we Christians go against Tinubu and God does not go against him, and he wins the election, what is going to be our luck? I don’t support anybody for now but let God go before us and choose for us in 2023.”

He also said, “Your blood brother or sister can be in a position of authority without helping you. It may be another person whom God will use to help you. So, don’t let us act faster than God in this critical moment.”

Making an allusion to David and Moses in the Bible, the senior cleric advised Christian leaders to prayerfully seek God’s direction on the right choice to make.

While decrying political apathy among Christians, the CAN chief sued for greater political participation among the citizens.
