Accidents: Akungba roadside traders relocate

From Jimoh Ahmed, Ikare Akoko

Traders at the Ibaka Market in Akungba Akoko have fully complied with the order to move away from the roadside, The Hope can reveal.
The Alale of Akungba, Oba Sunday Anjimo and his Council of Chiefs had issued an order to the traders to move away from the roadside to the inner markets in the town following a fatal accident caused by a truck fully loaded with rice in which 22 people died.
When The Hope went to the two markets situated very close to the main road, the Akungba/Ikare road on Thursday, all the traders have moved to the inner part of the locations thereby complying with the order.
However, the police and palace agents were monitoring activities on the roadside to prevent any comeback attempt by deviant traders.
As a result, those traders who attempted to display their wares at the roadside had their goods seized.
