The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami, has urged leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates of the party.

Adelami made the call on Friday while addressing party faithful at the APC ward meetings in Igboroko 1 Ward 2 and Igboroko 2 Ward 3 in his hometown of Owo, Ondo State.

He highlighted what he described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration, particularly in the economy and education, urging the people to support continuity rather than a return to the past.

According to him, the introduction of student loans has improved access to education for young Nigerians, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, while the savings from the removal of the fuel subsidy are being channelled back into the economy, especially at the sub-national level.

“The President has taken some bold steps to make life better for our people in his first term. The student loans for our young ones have made education easier and more accessible to children of the poor, while the money saved from the removal of the fuel subsidy is being put back into the economy, especially at the sub-national level,” he said.

Adelami urged party leaders to embark on house-to-house campaigns to promote the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration and strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots.

He added that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had directed APC leaders and members in the state to work towards securing votes for the President and all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking at Igboroko 1 Ward 2, a former Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Yemi Mahmoud, expressed appreciation to the governor and his deputy for appointing political leaders from Owo into the State Executive Council and other positions in the administration.

Mahmoud said party leaders were prepared to mobilise support for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Similarly, Chief Jamiu Ekungba, who spoke at Igboroko 2 Ward 3, urged party leaders to give their full support to Governor Aiyedatiwa and his deputy to help the party achieve its electoral objectives.

The APC ward meetings were held across Ondo State on Friday as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections and the party’s campaign activities.
