AIG presents white paper to tackle insecurity in Ondo/Ekiti

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, received a delegation led by AIG Asabi Abiodun of Zone 17 Akure, in his office on Tuesday, who presented a request white paper titled “A Proposal for Counter Operations Against Security Challenges in Ekiti and Ondo States.”

Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed the presentation and expressed gratitude for the proactive approach to prevent security challenges in the two neighboring state,
pledging to consider and adopt the recommendations outlined in the white paper.

“We are of the conviction that the paramount responsibility of any government is to ensure sufficient security for the protection of lives and property, we will always collaborate with our security outfits to ensure this” He added

Addressing Governor Aiyedatiwa and a gathering of senior police officials, AIG Asabi Abiodun stressed the gravity of the security situation facing the country.

He emphasized the need for swift and decisive action, stating, “A stitch in time saves nine.”

The presentation, titled “A Proposal for Counter Operations Against Security Challenges in Ekiti and Ondo States,” stresses the critical role of state governments in bolstering the capacity of law enforcement agencies. AIG Abiodun highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and state authorities to enhance security measures for the welfare of citizens.

While acknowledging that Ekiti and Ondo States are not the most severely affected, AIG Abiodun emphasized the proactive approach needed to prevent further deterioration of the security situation. The white paper presented aims to address existing challenges and prevent future security threats through strategic measures.

In concluding his address, AIG Asabi Abiodun expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for the opportunity to present the white paper and urged swift consideration and adoption of its recommendations by both states in Zone 17. The address ended with prayers for the well-being of Ondo State, the Nigeria Police, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
