Akure, Idanre health facilities for upgrade – Ikuomola

Secondary health facilities in Akure and Idanre will soon be upgraded, The Hope has gathered.

The facilities are; the Mother and Child Hospital, Akure is expected to become a multispecialist hospital while Idanre General Hospital becomes a Specialist Hospital.

Permanent Secretary, Ondo State Hospitals’ Management Board (HMB), Dr. Niran Ikuomola revealed this while speaking with The Hope in Akure.

According to him, the feat was achievable by closely having a good working relationship with the state Ministry of Health, adding that it was mandatory for the board to provide quality and effective healthcare services in the various  facilities across the state.

He explained that it was necessary that the board fulfilled the aspect of the REDEEMED Agenda of the present administration that related to health noting that the facilities would be positioned in achieving the goals of government.

He noted that other facilities would be repositioned to meet the purposes of their establishment which he described as the provision of effective and efficient services to residents of the state.

While hoping for an improved economy in order to have adequate number of professionals to replace those who have left the system, he called for the provision of more modern equipment in facilities and continuous training for staff.

He also called for the  renovation of the facilities to make them attractive adding that residents should key into the state Contributory Health Scheme in order to access qualitative health care at no cost at various health facilities across the state.

Ikuomola noted that the board will put in place measures that will embrace cordial relationship within the system especially among staff through motivation of the workforce.
