Complement govt’s efforts, teachers urged

Primary school teachers across Osun state have been enjoined to complement the efforts of the Oyetola administration in the quest to reposition the state’s education sector.
The Executive Chairman, Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Ajibola Famurewa gave the charge while declaring open a 5-day training workshop for select teachers of primary schools at Anthony Udofia Primary school hall, Osogbo.
Speaking further at the programme organised in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Famurewa noted that the successes recorded at the basic eduction level would have been impossible without the cooperation and financial commitments of the Commission.
He said the present administration in the State, under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, is passionate about education.
He, therefore, urged the participants to give their support to the development of the State education sector through efficient delivery.
He similarly enjoined participants at the workshop to make the best use of the opportunity and be ready to pass the knowledge gained to their colleagues when they get back to their various duty posts.
In an address, the representative of UBEC at the workshop, Mrs Toyin Oyewumi advised participants to make use of knowledge gained at the training workshop and pass it to their colleagues for the aims and objectives of the education stakeholders to be achieved.
Earlier In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary, Osun SUBEB, Osun, Mr Adeoye Bakare thanked UBEC for its support over the years at ensuring qualitative education delivery in schools across the country.
Adeoye lauded Governor Oyetola for his efforts in improving the education sector, describing him as a lover of education who has been working tirelessly to reposition the sector for better.
