COVID-19 palliatives not hoarded in my palace -Olowo

From Jimoh Ahmed,Owo

The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III has described as untrue, baseless and figment of the imagination of those circulating the story of undistributed COVID-19 palliatives being hoarded in his palace.
Oba Ogunoye stated this in a press release by the Directorate of Publicity, Olowo’s Palace and signed by his Special Assistant of Media, Sam Adewale.
In the release made available to The Hope, the Olowo stated that it is not in his style reacting to every story in the public space, but noted that it is pertinent to do so in the face of current realities when fake news has caused irreparable losses.
“Considering the reverence and sacredness of Olowo’s stool, the Palace does not react to every story in the public space, more so, when such was seen as a fairytale designed singularly to make mischief”.
“However, in the context of contemporary realities, when fake news and dangerous conjectures from the Social Media and other unverifiable sources easily abuse the minds of unsuspecting public, it becomes imperative to debunk the above story as figments of the peddlers’ imagination”.
The Olowo however said he has out of his love for his people given out palliatives and even facilitated more to cushion the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is instructive to state here unequivocally, that His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye-III, the Olowo of Owo, consequent upon his deep love and passionate concern for the welfare of his people, outstandingly championed the distribution of both cash and food items as palliatives to cushion the harsh effects of COVID 19 before, during and after the lockdown period.
In addition to his personal resources, Kabiyesi deployed his social network with his friends and admirers, locally and globally, to attract various support items which were distributed immediately on arrival at different times during the peak of the pandemic”.
“A wide spectrum of members of the community, both indigenes and none indigenes evidently benefited from the largesse and no time was any item left undistributed”.
Oba Ogunoye therefore enjoined the peace loving people of Owo to be wary of agents of friction whose devious mission of sowing disaffection for him and also causig havoc that will harm peace in the town.
