Sunshine Stars Coach, Deji Ayeni has dumped the Akure based team to join Nigeria Professional Football League defending champions, Akwa United in an undisclosed contract.

The former Sunshine Coach was unveiled by his new team yesterday afternoon.

The former Ekiti United coach did not pick neither return calls.

The General Manager of Sunshine Stars, Mr Akinsola Akinbobola in a chat with Sporting Hope  said Coach leaving one club to another is not novel in football circle.

“Soldier go soldier come barrack remain, that is football for you.”

He said: “We are used to such situation, Coach Gbenga Ogunbote left last season heaven did not fall and we came back stronger than expected after his exit and this won’t be of exception.

“We will come out stronger, Sunshine Stars is a big club, we wish Deji Ayeni well on his new job.”
