The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Samuel Akintunde as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo as part of the implementation process of the University status.

Other Principal Officers of the University will also act in acting capacity pending the appointment of Substantive Principal Officers.

 Recall that the Minister of Education, Prof. Mammam Tahir on  October 20, 2023 announced the conversion of Adeyemi College of Education to Adeyemi University of Education among other institutions with immediate effect.

According to the Minister, the establishment and conversion of the institutions is to further demonstrate President Tinubu’s determination to implement the renewed hope agenda of his administration. It is expected also that these institutions will improve access to tertiary education in the country.

The Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Akintunde, until his appointment was the Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.

Other Principal Officers who will be in acting capacity pending the appointment of substantive principal officers are Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede, Acting Registrar of the University; Mr. Ganiyu Olaniyi Abdul, Acting Bursar of the University and Mr. Azino Akpokuriere, Acting University Librarian.
