The Chairman Sunshine Stars/Queens supporters club, Mr Babatunde Adeboboye has appealed to the management of the club to fortify the team with strikers to complement the existing players’ effort.

The supporters club chairman commended Sunshine Stars for their sterling performance in the first stanza of the 2022/23 Abridged Nigeria Premier Football League.

Adeboboye in a chat with Sporting Hope noted that for the Sunshine Stars to  sustain the good performance it has started it must be reinforced with more players up front and in the midfield.

He said nobody thought they could perform to this level by ending the first stanza on second position in the group B log.

He appealed to the management of the team to keep supporting the coaches, saying it’s only the coaches that genuinely know where shoe pinches.

“They should continue to prioritize the players and their officials welfare the way they are doing, with additional striker in the team, I see Sunshine Stars in the super six”, he said.

He commended the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa and the General Manager of the team Prince Tunde Ogunja for handling the team professionally.

He added that the peaceful atmosphere at the stadium was a result of good relationship between the team’s management and the supporters club.

He said: “The management met with us before the commencement of the season, they had a robust discussion with us, which we as the leaders took to our members.

“We orientated our members on the need to support our team without  violence, we told them that  even when we are losing we should continue to share them up, to the glory of God it has been working for us. “And I can assure the football fans in the state that Sunshine Stars will not engage in violence before and after match at our stadium.”
