A Deeper Life pastor, identified as Otamayomi Ogedengbe has been abducted by unknown gunmen in his church along Onigari in Shagari Village, Akure South Local government area of Ondo State.
Report said the cleric was conducting a service at about 8,30pm when his abductors who came in a black Toyota Corolla car kidnapped him while members of the church were left unhurt.
The Akungba Akoko born pastor was understood to have left the state Library Board along Oyemekun and headed straight to the church for the programme after which the kidnappers arrived and abducted him
In what appeared to be a targeted abduction, the hoodlum whose number could not be ascertained on arrival went straight to the man of God, seized him and immediately whisked him away to an unknown destination.
A member of the church who identified himself as Mr Paul confirmed his abduction.
The wife of the pastor, Mrs Ogendegbe who also confirmed the abduction said they were both attending the programme when the hoodlums stormed the church and took his husband away.
As at the time of filing this report, his whereabouts unknown but a source from the church said his phone was not available and the kidnappers were yet to reach out to member of the victim’s family.
However, members of the church have commenced intensive prayer for God to save the victim from the hands of his abductors
It would be recalled that early this year another pastor Federick Ojo Aramuwa was reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen along Ipele-Idoani Ifira road and was killed by his abductors.
The situation threw the whole community in Ifira Akoko where the cleric hailed from into confusion and mourning.
However, the Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, last week in his broadcast to address the security challenges in the state especially cultism in Owo and Ikare Akoko crises where properties were destroyed urged traditional rulers to work with security forces in ensuring sustainable peace.
