Gunmen abduct Ekiti Council staff

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Saturday night abducted a staff of Ado Ekiti local government council, Mrs Helen Funmilola.
According to a source close to the police on Ado-Ekiti, the bandit whisked the council staff away at about 8:30 pm to a unknown destination.
The source said the kidnappers numbering about five and armed with weapons stormed the resident of the victim located along Immigration area in Ado-Ekiti.
The victim, it was learnt, is the wife of the immediate past Surveyor General of Ekiti State who died late last year.
Similarly, a source close to the family said the kidnappers had not contacted the family for negotiation, but the police are making efforts to trace the whereabouts of the victim.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the receipt of the matter.
He said efforts are being intensified to arrest the kidnappers and rescue the victim alive.
