Reports had it that similar incident happened at Akunnu recently when herdsmen destroyed farm crops and carted away palm fruits of farmers and threatened the traditional farmers which made many farmers to be afraid of going to their farms.
According to Mr Ojuolape, cattle destroyed the crops to the extent that they cannot get meaningful harvest this year.
He lamented that money and energy invested on the farm project had gone down the drain.
Although he disclosed that the case has been reported to security agents in the area he want the state government to intervene in the matter.
A farmer from Akunnu Akoko, Mr Michael Bello, confirmed the ugly development and commended the intervention of the regent of Akunnu Akoko North East local government, Princess Tolani Orogun, who invited the herdsmen for a meeting for amicable settlement without violence.

Traditional Council, Oba Andrew Momodu, disclosed that famine is very imminent in Akoko area due to destruction of farm crops by cattle and lukewarm attitudes of farmers in Akoko to embark on farming because they are afraid that such farms will later be destroyed by cattle with impunity.
