Laws to fast-track provision of amenities underway – ODHA

Desirous to improve the living standard of the people of the state, the Ondo state House of Assembly has vowed to enact laws that will fast-track provision of basic amenities in the state.
The Chairman, House Committee on Public Utilities and Transport, Mr Kuti Towase gave the assurance during a familiarization visit to the State Electricity Board and State National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
According to him, the visit of the House Committee on Public Utilities and Transport to the State Electricity Board was to seek ways on how the energy sector could be improved upon for better productivity.
He commended the Electricity Board for its arrays of projects and achievements so far in improving the energy sector of the state.
He assured that the 9th Assembly will not hesitate to support the board in terms of budgetary allocations for the sustenance of the electricity projects embarked upon by the board.
In his response, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, Mr. Tunji Light Ariyomo commended the lawmakers for giving the board the necessary support in having access to some counterpart funds for water and electricity projects in the state.
Ariyomo however called for more funding in the execution and completion of major ongoing electricity projects in the state to boost its manpower.
Earlier, the Committee also visited the NURTW secretariat in Akure under the leadership of Adebo Idajo just as they commended the union for maintaining the relative peace and unity among transport workers in the state.
The committee admonished road users and drivers to take caution and exercise patience on the road during this ember months to avoid road crashes on the highway.
