LCDAs creation: All disputes resolved —ODSG

All the disputes and grievances which emanated from the creation of Local Government Development Areas, LCDAs, in Ondo State have now been resolved, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Amidu Takuro has disclosed.
He said the vision of Governor Akeredolu in creating the LCDAs is for the overall development of all strata of the state which must be achieved.
Takuro said a committee set up to outline the assets sharing, restructuring of the council areas will submit its report on Monday.
He declared that all the agitations which emanated as misunderstandings among the communities have been resolved amicably.
He said there was no crisis in over 90 percent of the LCDAs which he said is an evidence of near total acceptance by everyone.
The commissioner also refuted the allegations that the recently dissolved local government chairmen in the State were receiving salaries since they left office in August.
He described the allegations by the opposition PDP as baseless.
The Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the State, Kennedy Ikantu Peretei had in a release alleged that the local government chairmen whose three years tenure ended since August this year were still drawing salaries from the state treasury.
Peretei claimed that the ex-council bosses refused to hand over their official vehicles in spite of the dissolution of the councils by Lucky Aiyedatiwa during his tenure as Acting Governor.
Takuro who described it as a baseless allegations with no evidence, said what the chairmen were receiving installmentally is their severance benefits.
He assured that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu will any moment from now appoint new set of caretaker chairmen to replace the dissolved ones maintaining that none of the chairmen was in possession of their official vehicles.
The commissioner affirmed that career civil servants headed by Head of Local Government Administration, HOLGA are in charge of running the council since the former local government bosses left including the management of their Internally Generated Revenue, IGR.
He reiterated that there was no vacuum in any of the tiers of administration in Ondo State since the Governor returned from medical vacation last September.
