Man defiles four-year-old girl

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, ordered the remand of a 50-year-old man, Usman Tajudeen, at the Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti over alleged defilement be of a four years old girl.
The police prosecutor, Monica Ikebuilo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug.21 at Afao area of Ikere-Ekiti.
She alleged that the defendant defiled the small girl whose parents live in the same apartment with the defendant.
Ikebuilo told the court that the defendant and the victim’s parents were neighbours, saying the victim’s mother noticed that blood was coming out from the private part of the victim.
She added that when the mother asked her of the blood, she mentioned the defendant’s name that he invited her to his house.
According to her, the offence contravened Section 31(2) of Child Right Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The plea of the defendant was not taken.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adefumike Anoma, ordered the remand of the defendant at the correctional centre, pending issuance of legal advice.
She adjourned the case until Sept.18 for hearing.
