Man in court over N1.6m fraud

A 20-year-old man, Bobose Tejumola has been arraigned before an Akure Magistrate’s Court for allegedly defrauding one Ayodeji Sunday Gbogi, N1.6million through his bank account
The accused person committed the offence sometimes in the month of June 2020 at Akute in the Akure Magisterial District.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Adesegun, told the court that the accused person fraudulently obtained the sum of N1.6 million, from one Ayodeji Sunday Gbogi under the pretence of helping him to invest in online business.
He also alleged that the accused person defrauded and stole the said money from the victim by deceiving him.
The offence committed contravened sections 390(9), and 419 of the Criminal Code Cap 37 Vol. 1 , Laws of Ondo State Nigeria, 2006..
The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the two count charge bothering on fraud and theft
The defence counsel, Mr Ogboye prayed the court to grant his client bail in most liberal terms.
Magistrate Mayomi Olanipekun, admitted the accused person to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Mayomi, ordered that sureties must swear to affidavit of means, while he adjourned the case till January 25, 2021 for hearing.
