ODHA pledges support for FRSC over safety

Ondo State House of Assembly will continue to collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Corps towards safety of lives on the highways in the State.

The Speaker of the House, Bamidele Oleyelogun gave the assurance yesterday while playing host to the Zonal Commanding Officer for RS 11,Asst.Corps Marshall, Emmanuel Omotosho Abe and his team in his office.

The Speaker urged men of the sector to continue to be vigilant on highways due to negligence of some drivers.

Oleyelogun who said the services of FRSC was crucial to safety on Nigerian roads, commended the officers for their immeasurable sacrifices.

While appreciating the team for the visit, he urged the Sector to always interface with the Assembly whenever such needs arise.

Oleyelogun equally wished the Zonal commanding officer well as he was bowing out of active service, urging him to tell whoever was taking over from him to relate well with the Lawmakers who were the representatives of the people.

Earlier, the Zonal Commanding Officer commended the leadership of the Assembly for their support.

He explained that the major challenges they have was the lawlessness of drivers on the highways which caused a lot of problem for the society, including avoidable loss of lives.

He used the opportunity to advised people to respect rules and regulations while on the wheels, noting that negligence, lawlessness among others was highly condemnable.

He pledged that the sector will continue to do the needful towards ensuring sanity on the highways.
